SSAB Borlänge Invests in more FluidWorkers
Latest technology brings better control and lower costs
SSAB in Borlänge continues to invest in sustainable and efficient solutions in its workshops. These operate around the clock, processing critical components and rolling mill rolls needed for steel production.
Since 2010, several FluidWorkers have been in use here, and with the installation of a new boring machine, SSAB has chosen to take the next step with the FluidWorker 150 – the latest generation featuring automatic control of cutting fluid.
Automated control gives operators full oversight
“We already have good experience with FluidWorker, and now we’ll also gain even better control over the cutting fluid with automatic regulation of concentration and tank level, allowing operators to fully focus on machining,” says Anders Jacobsson, technician at the central workshops, SSAB Borlänge.
More stable production and improved work environment
The FluidWorker 150 combines circulation and UV treatment of the cutting fluid with automatic measurement and refilling of the correct amount of water and concentrate. The result is optimal conditions for machining, further reduced fluid consumption, as well as more stable production and an improved working environment.
