July 15 Wallenius Water won the “Ocean Environmental Protection Award” from Sustainable Shipping, the online shipping journal dedicated to marine transportation and the environment.
Hundreds of guests from the shipping industry saw Torkel Elgh, President Wallenius Water, pick-up the “Ocean Environmental Protection Award” at a ceremony in the world’s maritime capital, London. The prize was given to Wallenius Water and AlfaLaval.
Wallenius Water was also short listed in another category; “Environmental Awareness in Shipping Award” together with WWL. Unfortunately we were not as lucky in that category.

It pays to be persistent and this award gives us encouragement for new achievements!” says Torkel Elgh.
“Ocean Environmental Protection Award“ recognises the company or organisation that has made the most significant contribution to the reduction and prevention of pollution of the ocean by ships. This covers areas such as oil spill prevention, ballast water treatment, and hull coatings.
